Lagoon Meeting #258

Lagoon’s 258 th meeting was held on the 19h Dec   2011 @ Rayan Hotel Sharjah UAE, after the ALTTS (Additional Lagoon Table Topics Session) conducted by TM Chandrasekhara Rao.

TMOD, TM Mohammed Rashid as on his foremost role as  MC presented the  theme of the Day: “ Change ” The opening was done by  TM Abdul Ravoof who authentically read out the club mission statement and called the meeting to order. The presidential address was done by TM Chandrasekhar Rao,.

TM Mohammed Rashid carried the message of Change  throughout the meeting, with different  forms of positive change agents and life incidents.

The word of the day “Purge“, was introduced by TM  Mohd Ashraf meaning, cleanse, eliminate, remove  and the word was used 7 times during the meeting.

There were 3 prepared speeches

P1 – TM Bijoy – About myself” , P2 – MTM Shurooq  – “A life long love affair”and P5 – by  TM Natraj  – Indian Cinema

The Education session on “History of Toastmasters in UAE & A short insight into competition” was conducted by Division J  Governor TM Balaji Bhushan.

General Evaluator was by MTM Sunitha, who introduced other evaluators namely Evaluating TM Bijoy was TM Mathew P Mathews,  Evaluating MTM Shurooq was TM Loy Machedo & Evaluating TM Natraj was TM Biswaranjan.

The Table Topics session was done TM Sajid Koroth.

The Round Robin session was very interesting in which all present explained on CHANGE  in their own lives.

The silent role players were TM Murali – Timer, TM Yadu Warrier – Joke Master, TM Balakrishnan Nambiar – Grammarian & TM Zakir Hussain – Ah Counter.

Best Speaker – MTM Shurooq AlBanna.

Best Evaluator – TM Biswaranjan

Best Table Topic speaker – TM Dr  Balan Vijayakumar

  1. I think the highlight of this meeting was Shurooq’s master-piece and yes Bishwaranjan’s brilliant evaluation. Truly impressive and worthy of our respect. I enjoyed learning a few new tips from our members.

    2. Importance of leadership role in toastmasters.

    4. Movies to watch: Freedom writers, Glory Road – TM Anirudh

      However perfectly, with every supporting materials, we keep our accounts, auditors will have something to write down and take away. (I worked in accounts and I felt that the auditors were the most dreaded people in the world). Mr. Rashid, you are an auditor in and out and you find always to takeaway something even from a toastmasters meeting.

      You outshined others as TMOD with your cool but established handling of the meeting.
