District Governor’s Message

Alex Ginete, DTMGreetings,

Besides the DTAC 2013 chairman and his team, I am probably the happiest person in District 20 for witnessing first hand and in close proximity the unfolding of what I perceive as one of the most spectacular events happening in our midst.

As a District Officer, DTAC 2013 shall be my 6th district conference.  However, this is probably the first time I have seen it progressing full throttle at the first quarter of the district year. As early as the first month of the district term, we were already exchanging emails with Toastmasters International Headquarters (TIHQ) about the formalities of financial accounts—this is to ensure that finances are appropriately in place and accounted for.

As early as March this year, THIQ confirmed that District 20 has been selected to receive a visit from an International Officer.  Hence, the conference dates of May 9-11, 2013 in order to coincide this event  with the International Officer’s visit.

This is the 6th District Conference, and I believe that this will really be as spectacular as the number six.  It is widely believed that “the number six is the ‘mother’ number and is essentially a working, building number.  It symbolizes responsibility and service, which needs to be achieved through love, nurturing and protection”.

With all the committees being formed, the issues and concerns being taken care of one-by-one, and meticulous trimmings being put in place, we can choose to only watch and observe from a distance. However, by only watching from a distance, we shall be deprived of the full extent of the actions, accomplishments and exhilarations.  We should therefore get involved—getting involved means, volunteering for action.

So let’s all get involved now!

Go tell the DTAC 2013 Chairman Balaji:
“I am ready to take DTAC 2013 assignment, now!
Cheers.
